In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Works on Paper, which included the work Christ And The Virgin With Saint Nicholas Of Bari by Giovanni Battista Gaulli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 112,500.00 (€ 125,532.72), 61% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Battista Gaulli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 569,000.00 (€ 421,481.48).

Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ And The Virgin With Saint Nicholas Of Bari von Giovanni Battista Gaulli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 112.500,00 (€ 125.532,72) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Gaulli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Head And Shoulders beobachtet, die im Januar 2014 für USD 569.000,00 (€ 421.481,48) versteigert wurde.
