Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work The Stoning of Saint Stephen by Giorgio Vasari for USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,133.66). This price was achieved in the auction Always in Style: Old Master Drawings from the Collection of Herbert Kasper at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio Vasari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pietà in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 574,500.00 (€ 588,808.04).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Always in Style: Old Master Drawings from the Collection of Herbert Kasper bei Christies erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Vasari erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pietà im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 574.500,00 (€ 588.808,04).
