Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A frieze showing the heads of a group of men by Giorgio Vasari was sold in the Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,921.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio Vasari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pietà in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 574,500.00 (€ 588,808.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A frieze showing the heads of a group of men von Giorgio Vasari wurde im Juli 2012 in der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert.
