Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Signs that say what you want them to say and not Signs that say what someone else wants you to say (Queer and Happy), 1992–1993 by Gillian Wearing was sold in the Photographs Including Property from the Museum of Modern Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2017. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,434.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gillian Wearing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait at 17 Years Old (from Album) in May last year with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,708.41).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Signs that say what you want them to say and not Signs that say what someone else wants you to say (Queer and Happy), 1992–1993 von Gillian Wearing wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Photographs Including Property from the Museum of Modern Art bei Christies in New York versteigert.
