Auction result well in line with expectations
The work My Hand by Gillian Wearing was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in February 2015. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,756.04) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gillian Wearing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-Portrait at 17 Years Old (from Album) in May last year with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,708.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit My Hand von Gillian Wearing wurde im Februar 2015 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.756,04) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gillian Wearing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-Portrait at 17 Years Old (from Album) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 58.708,41).
