Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2013 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, which included the work Scultura Per Purificare Le Paroleclay, Iron, Alcohol, Leather And Lamp, Executed In 1979 by Gilberto Zorio. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 63,900.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gilberto Zorio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 281,000.00 (€ 313,042.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2013 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Arte Moderna e Contemporanea durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scultura Per Purificare Le Paroleclay, Iron, Alcohol, Leather And Lamp, Executed In 1979 von Gilberto Zorio zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 63.900,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilberto Zorio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 281.000,00 (€ 313.042,51).
