In December 2018 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art II, which included the work Stella - 1989 by Gilberto Zorio. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 52,000.00 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gilberto Zorio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2016 with an auction result of GBP 281,000.00 (€ 313,042.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stella - 1989 von Gilberto Zorio zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 52.000,00 und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilberto Zorio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 281.000,00 (€ 313.042,51).
