Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Portrait Of The Right Honorable William Brownlow by Gilbert Stuart. Here, the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,883.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gilbert Stuart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington (Vaughan type) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 11,562,500.00 (€ 9,907,883.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of The Right Honorable William Brownlow von Gilbert Stuart zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.883,96) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Stuart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit George Washington (Vaughan type) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.562.500,00 (€ 9.907.883,46).
