Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Trois Enfants by Gertrude Käsebier was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 8,125.00. Admittedly, works by Gertrude Käsebier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rodin, c. 1905 in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,805.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Trois Enfants von Gertrude Käsebier im November 2016 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 8.125,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gertrude Käsebier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rodin, c. 1905 im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.805,30).
