Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Violet Deep - I by Gershon Iskowitz was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 25,200.00 (€ 18,093.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gershon Iskowitz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sextet, which sold at auction in June 2010 for CAD 60,000.00 (€ 46,023.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Violet Deep - I von Gershon Iskowitz wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 25.200,00 (€ 18.093,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gershon Iskowitz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sextet beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für CAD 60.000,00 (€ 46.023,92) versteigert wurde.
