Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of Maurice, Prince Palatine (1621–52) by Gerrit van Honthorst was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2015. It achieved a price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 33,669.52), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit van Honthorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Merry Group Behind A Balustrade With A Violin And A Lute Player in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 7,557,000.00 (€ 5,597,777.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Maurice, Prince Palatine (1621–52) von Gerrit van Honthorst wurde im Juli 2015 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 33.669,52) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit van Honthorst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Merry Group Behind A Balustrade With A Violin And A Lute Player im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.557.000,00 (€ 5.597.777,78).
