Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The departure of the fleet by German Grobe was sold in the 19th CenturyEuropean Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2007. The price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by German Grobe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Anchoring the Bomschuit, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 18,000.00.

Die Arbeit The departure of the fleet von German Grobe wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion 19th CenturyEuropean Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von German Grobe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Anchoring the Bomschuit beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 18.000,00 versteigert wurde.
