The auction ended at the price of EUR 5,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by German Grobe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Anchoring the Bomschuit, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 18,000.00.

Die Arbeit Children playing in the dunes of Katwijk von German Grobe wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion Topographical Observations: Picture your world bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 5.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von German Grobe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Anchoring the Bomschuit beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 18.000,00 versteigert wurde.
