Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by German Grobe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007. In the Pictures Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work A shell fisher in the surf sold for EUR 3,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by German Grobe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anchoring the Bomschuit in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 18,000.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von German Grobe erzielte im September 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings wurde die Arbeit A shell fisher in the surf für EUR 3.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von German Grobe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anchoring the Bomschuit im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.000,00.
