Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2009 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Old Master Paintings, XIX Century Paintings, Furniture, Ceramics and Works of Art and Books, which included the work Veduta Di Venezia by Fabius Brest. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 42,750.00 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fabius Brest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 598,400.00 (€ 498,874.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Old Master Paintings, XIX Century Paintings, Furniture, Ceramics and Works of Art and Books durch, in der auch die Arbeit Veduta Di Venezia von Fabius Brest zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 42.750,00 und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fabius Brest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 598.400,00 (€ 498.874,53).
