Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work French a Turkish Market by Fabius Brest was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2016. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 87,882.94). Admittedly, works by Fabius Brest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 598,400.00 (€ 498,874.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit French a Turkish Market von Fabius Brest kam im April 2016 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 68.750,00 (€ 87.882,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fabius Brest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 598.400,00 (€ 498.874,53).
