Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Frencha Square In Constantinople by Fabius Brest was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 48,402.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fabius Brest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 598,400.00 (€ 498,874.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Frencha Square In Constantinople von Fabius Brest wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 42.500,00 (€ 48.402,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fabius Brest erzielen.
