Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Orientalist Art, which included the work A gathering near the Bosphorus by Fabius Brest. The price achieved of GBP 22,562.50 (€ 25,053.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fabius Brest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 598,400.00 (€ 498,874.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gathering near the Bosphorus von Fabius Brest zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 22.562,50 (€ 25.053,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fabius Brest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 598.400,00 (€ 498.874,53).
