Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Brasilia, 1984 by Gerhard Merz for USD 12,000.00 (€ 9,717.39). This price was achieved in the auction POST-WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART AND DESIGN at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerhard Merz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ohne Titel, which sold at auction in December 2013 for EUR 25,000.00.

Im Mai 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Brasilia, 1984 von Gerhard Merz für USD 12.000,00 (€ 9.717,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion POST-WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART AND DESIGN bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerhard Merz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für EUR 25.000,00 versteigert wurde.
