Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek three Figures by Gerasimos Steris. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,418.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerasimos Steris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 57,600.00 (€ 84,762.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greek three Figures von Gerasimos Steris zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.418,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerasimos Steris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 57.600,00 (€ 84.762,30).
