Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study Of White Peonies by Gerard van Spaendonck was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 11,906.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard van Spaendonck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Roses, Hyacinth, Wallflower And Other Flowers In A Lapis Lazuli Vase; Still Life Of Narcissus, Hyacinth And Other Flowers In A Brown Porphyry Vase in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,261,946.63).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life Of Roses, Hyacinth, Wallflower And Other Flowers In A Lapis Lazuli Vase; Still Life Of Narcissus, Hyacinth And Other Flowers In A Brown Porphyry Vase im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.650.500,00 (€ 1.261.946,63).
