Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With Flowers, An Urn And A Bird, Circa 1785 by Gerard van Spaendonck was sold in the Part I auction at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,266.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard van Spaendonck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Roses, Hyacinth, Wallflower And Other Flowers In A Lapis Lazuli Vase; Still Life Of Narcissus, Hyacinth And Other Flowers In A Brown Porphyry Vase in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,261,946.63).

Die Arbeit Still Life With Flowers, An Urn And A Bird, Circa 1785 von Gerard van Spaendonck wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion Part I bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.266,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard van Spaendonck erzielen.
