Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Mooncakes And Lanterns by Georgette Chen. It changed hands for a price of HKD 2,125,000.00 (€ 250,826.07) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Georgette Chen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Big Durian in May this year with an auction result of HKD 14,290,000.00 (€ 1,712,814.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mooncakes And Lanterns von Georgette Chen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 2.125.000,00 (€ 250.826,07) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.200.000,00 – 2.200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georgette Chen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Big Durian im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.290.000,00 (€ 1.712.814,91).
