In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Twilight by George William Sotter. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,088.17) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by George William Sotter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Miller'S House in May 2006 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 149,614.28).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Twilight von George William Sotter zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.088,17) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George William Sotter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Miller'S House im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 149.614,28).
