Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Awaiting their master by George William Horlor was sold in the Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe auction at Christies in London in November 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by George William Horlor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The day's bag in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
