In June 2011 Christies in London held the auction Sporting& Wildlife Art, which included the work Best Behaviour by George William Horlor. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 17,977.60), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George William Horlor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The day's bag, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting& Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Best Behaviour von George William Horlor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 17.977,60) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George William Horlor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The day's bag beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für GBP 45.410,00 (€ 66.325,43) versteigert wurde.
