Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Cattle, sheep and rabbits on a hillside by George William Horlor. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,532.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George William Horlor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The day's bag in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle, sheep and rabbits on a hillside von George William Horlor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.532,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George William Horlor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The day's bag im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 66.325,43).
