Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Sailing Vessels In A Calm by George Willem Opdenhoff for EUR 9,600.00. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings at Sothebys in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by George Willem Opdenhoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 81,914.00 (€ 39,316.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sailing Vessels In A Calm von George Willem Opdenhoff für EUR 9.600,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Willem Opdenhoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 81.914,00 (€ 39.316,02).
