In October 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th CenturyEuropean Art, which included the work On calm water; and On a choppy sea by George Willem Opdenhoff. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 21,850.00. Other works by George Willem Opdenhoff have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of NLG 81,914.00 (€ 39,316.02) in October 2000 for the work Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea.

Im Oktober 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th CenturyEuropean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On calm water; and On a choppy sea von George Willem Opdenhoff zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 21.850,00 einen neuen Besitzer.
