Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century EuropeanArt, which included the work Fishing Vessels Moored By A Coast by George Willem Opdenhoff. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 13,450.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Willem Opdenhoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea, which sold at auction in October 2000 for NLG 81,914.00 (€ 39,316.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century EuropeanArt durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing Vessels Moored By A Coast von George Willem Opdenhoff zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 13.450,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von George Willem Opdenhoff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für NLG 81.914,00 (€ 39.316,02) versteigert wurde.
