In April 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Dutch vessels on choppy waters by a coast by George Willem Opdenhoff. The auction ended at the price of EUR 3,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Willem Opdenhoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 81,914.00 (€ 39,316.02).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch vessels on choppy waters by a coast von George Willem Opdenhoff zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 3.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Willem Opdenhoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping in a calm; Shipping on a choppy sea im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 81.914,00 (€ 39.316,02).
