This work of art by George Washington Lambert could be acquired at Christies in Melbourne in November 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work She trips across the Street changed hands for AUD 1,175.00 (€ 662.62) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Washington Lambert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Miss Alison Preston in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 44,650.00 (€ 26,935.17).
