Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Important British Paintings, which included the work Gypsies On A Path In A Wooded Landscape by George Vincent. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,900.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Vincent - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of The Needles, Isle of Wight, From Christchurch, which sold at auction in June 2006 for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,309.32).
