Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Shepherds Resting On A Hillside With A Riverside Town Beyond by George Vincent was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 1,996.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Vincent achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of The Needles, Isle of Wight, From Christchurch in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,309.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Shepherds Resting On A Hillside With A Riverside Town Beyond von George Vincent im März 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.750,00 (€ 1.996,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Vincent erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View of The Needles, Isle of Wight, From Christchurch im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.309,32).
