Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Roosevelt Singleton by George Dureau was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in New York in July 2010. It achieved a price of USD 1,062.50 (€ 812.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by George Dureau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Group of Six Portraits, 1970s–1980s in April last year with an auction result of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,783.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Roosevelt Singleton von George Dureau wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.062,50 (€ 812,99) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Dureau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Group of Six Portraits, 1970s–1980s im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.783,15).
