Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ali by George Dureau was auctioned at Christies in Paris in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 800.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 840.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Dureau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Group of Six Portraits, 1970s–1980s in April last year with an auction result of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,783.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ali von George Dureau kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 840,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Dureau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Group of Six Portraits, 1970s–1980s im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.783,15).
