Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Fording The River, The Vale of Evesham by George Turner. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 6,877.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Turner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 10,222.50 (€ 16,203.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fording The River, The Vale of Evesham von George Turner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 6.877,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Turner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 10.222,50 (€ 16.203,92) versteigert wurde.
