Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A lane at Diseworth, Leicestershire by George Turner was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,280.17). Admittedly, works by George Turner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 10,222.50 (€ 16,203.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A lane at Diseworth, Leicestershire von George Turner im Juni 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.280,17) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Turner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.222,50 (€ 16.203,92).
