In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work A midday rest, Ingleby by George Turner. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,940.35), 31% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Turner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 10,222.50 (€ 16,203.92).

Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A midday rest, Ingleby von George Turner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.940,35) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Turner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 10.222,50 (€ 16.203,92) versteigert wurde.
