Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A lane near Barrow-on-Trent by George Turner was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2009. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,973.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Turner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Scotch Ford, Ben Voirlich in the Distance in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 10,222.50 (€ 16,203.92).
