Sold at the upper estimate price
The work "Eagle, a bay racehorse" by George Stubbs was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2016. The auction ended at the price of SEK 1,500,000.00 (€ 156,510.61), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of SEK 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Stubbs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gimcrack on Newmarket Heath, with a trainer, a jockey and a stable lad in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,441,250.00 (€ 25,754,691.64).

Die Arbeit "Eagle, a bay racehorse" von George Stubbs kam im Dezember 2016 bei Bukowski in Stockholm zur Auktion.
