Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two hunters with a young groom and a dog by a lake by George Stubbs was sold in the Defining British Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,050,500.00 (€ 3,661,595.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by George Stubbs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gimcrack on Newmarket Heath, with a trainer, a jockey and a stable lad in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,441,250.00 (€ 25,754,691.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two hunters with a young groom and a dog by a lake von George Stubbs wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion Defining British Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
