Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Allegorical figures in a stream by George Spencer Watson. The price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,798.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Spencer Watson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Orange Dress in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 57,159.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Allegorical figures in a stream von George Spencer Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.798,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Spencer Watson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Orange Dress im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 57.159,89).
