In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work A Sale On The Premises by George Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 32,500.00 (€ 46,074.08), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Smith; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Home - Be It Ever So Humble sold at auction in July 2007 with the realized price of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 80,202.47).

Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Sale On The Premises von George Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 46.074,08) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von George Smith; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Home - Be It Ever So Humble im Juli 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 54.000,00 (€ 80.202,47).
