Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Richmond could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection auction, the work Recto: Study Of Woman Holding A Shield Verso: Studies Of A Nude changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,970.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Richmond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sir Moses Montefiore (1784-1885), three-quarter-length, seated at a desk, in a black suit and cap in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 141,726.13).
In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection wechselte die Arbeit Recto: Study Of Woman Holding A Shield Verso: Studies Of A Nude für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.970,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00.
