Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Richmond could be acquired at Christies in London in April 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A Sheet Of Studies Including A Head Study Of Samuel Palmer, An Angel And Other Figures changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 590.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Richmond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sir Moses Montefiore (1784-1885), three-quarter-length, seated at a desk, in a black suit and cap in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 141,726.13).
