This artwork by George Richmond achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2016. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection auction, the work A Recollection Of William Blake (1757-1827) sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,367.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Richmond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Sir Moses Montefiore (1784-1885), three-quarter-length, seated at a desk, in a black suit and cap in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 141,726.13).
In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection wurde die Arbeit A Recollection Of William Blake (1757-1827) für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.367,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00.
