Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Cake by George Morren was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March last year. The price achieved of EUR 5,040.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Morren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work À L'Harmonie (Jardin Public) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 915,000.00 (€ 784,061.70).
