This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Minne; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot L'Agenouillé de la fontaine: de geknielde aan de bron sold at auction in November 2009 with the realized price of EUR 217,000.00.
