Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Hoyningen-Huene could be acquired at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Photographs auction, the work Lee Miller, Fashion by Yrande, Paris changed hands for USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,356.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Hoyningen-Huene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fashion studies, 1939-1942 in February 2009 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,718.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Hoyningen-Huene konnte im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Lee Miller, Fashion by Yrande, Paris für USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.356,06) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Hoyningen-Huene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fashion studies, 1939-1942 im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.718,53).
